The most awaited flagship Samsung Galaxy S9 seems to come sooner than expected. In a report, it is believed to be launched even before the MWC on 25th Feb. We have all the reasons to believe it strongly coming from Evan Blass. If you are not aware who is Evan Blass (follow him now), you might still be using a Nokia 3310 from the 2000s.
Just today Evan shared a tweet with a picture of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Coming from one of the most influential Techies and most trusted source of information for we tech bloggers. Honestly, I am really excited about the new Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+.
In the tweet which linked to an article from VentureBeat, it shows two images from the front of the device which resembles quite the same look as the previous Galaxy S8 and S8+. Nothing is yet confirmed, but it is believed to come with the new and improved Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. It is also in the air that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with a 64GB storage coupled with 4GB RAM. Whereas, the bigger brother will have 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
According to the article published by VentureBeat, the smaller Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8” beautiful infinity display and the bigger brother a 6.2” display. Earlier rumors have suggested a boost in the camera performance with a varied aperture camera at the back. Though, the publisher has not posted any pictures of the back of the device, reports highly point towards the rumors to be true.
If you have used the previous generation Samsung Galaxy S8, it had beautiful optics and took great shots. However the later released Note 8 seemed to surpass the former with dual cameras. If we are to believe the rumors, this year’s Samsung Flagship will come with a camera that has varied apertures. As per the report, the new flagships will come with an improved 12MP primary camera that can switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4. It is believed to be paired with an 8MP selfie camera.
Going by the spec sheet, it can be the first device to get the new SD 845 and the newer varied aperture camera. To the relief of the haters of the fingerprint sensor placement on the Galaxy S8. The newer Galaxy S9 and S9+ can have the fingerprint scanner vertically lined below the camera, which is more practical. It is also possible that the newer Samsung flagship will get a speaker boost with dual speakers at the front.
The reports indicate that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will launch by end of the next month. It will launch on 25th February according to a picture that seems like a launch event invite. It can hit the shelves for sales starting on 16th March 2018. With the improved specs and the exciting new camera, this can be one of the hottest flagships of 2018.
Personally, I would have liked an under-display fingerprint scanner, though the placement alteration is also welcome. Cameras are always a high priority on Samsung flagships and with the speculations, it seems to be exciting. Though the devices look almost similar to the last year’s flagships the S8 and S8+, the design is not something I will ever complain about. Snapdragon 845 is surely coming to the S9 and S9+ thanks to Samsung’s clever strategical ties with Qualcomm. Overall I am really excited about the new Galaxy S9 and S9+.
Let me know in the comments what are your expectations and how much the leaks suffice yours.
